Ground meat

Sliced products

Frankfurter sausage

Inflation continues to impact consumers’ purchasing power and leads to make food choices differently. More affordable processed meat products – like sausages – are prioritized by consumers. Price is the first-choice criteria, but it has to be a good balance with the quality of the product. One of the main challenges of that category is to make it more acceptable in terms of quality of the ingredients – ingredient list, premium and healthy ingredients naturalness… Our ranges of SWELITE™ pea fibre and NASTAR™ pea starch meet the technological needs of sausage category: good texture of the meat paste, good processability (stuffing in casing), good sliceability and elasticity, juiciness and good bite. It is particularly interesting in sterilized sausages as being a heat resistant starch.

64% of UK category users are interested in recipes using fish/shellfish as an alternative to meat or poultry (source: Mintel GNPD). Environmental and health concerns drive the market.

74% of US category buyers think it is important to buy fish/shellfish that has been certified as responsibly sourced. But inflation encourages consumers to look for lower-cost options.
