PISANE™ IS NUTRITION-DENSE
Nutrition-density is about quantity and quality of nutrients. And PISANE™ pea protein ticks all the boxes! Its AAS is well-balanced: 0.96 (based on the FAO suggested amino acid pattern for adults over 18 years old (2007)). PISANE™ is a pea protein isolate of high purity that contains all the essential amino acids in significant amounts. PISANE™ can be easily combined with other plant proteins in order to achieve an AAS of 1. Thanks to its richness in those amino acids, PISANE™ naturally provides high levels of branched amino acids (BCAA) (17.9g/100g protein).
PISANE™‘s true digestibility is very high (98%), same as total milk proteins, and comparable to that of beef and soy proteins.
Certain compounds naturally present in leguminous such as pea and soy can hinder proteins digestion. They may reduce the digestibility of the protein and other essential nutrients by binding strongly with them, making them less bioavailable. Fortunately, the anti-nutritional factors are largely de-activated by PISANE™ production process.
PISANE™ MAKES YOU FEEL FULL LONGER
Among the macronutrients, proteins have been identified as having the most important effect on food intake. Increasing the protein composition of the diet without changing the net energy load can lead to enhanced feelings of satiety. PISANE™ pea protein is an intermediate-fast protein. That means has an intermediate rapid and strong satiation effect – between whey protein and casein. Pea protein has an effect on lowering short-term food intake.

PISANE™ PEA PROTEIN: SUSTAINABLE
Pea is part of the solution. Pea crop demonstrates clear environmental advantages. Peas have a symbiotic relationship with soil bacteria that allow them to use nitrogen from the air. So, pea crop does not need any additional nitrogen fertilizer inputs. This resource has another considerable agronomic advantage: the use of minimal to no irrigation. Water requirements are lower than for soy or corn because its cycle is short. Integrating a pulse into the crop rotation sequesters carbon in the soil and stores atmospheric nitrogen. This enriches the soil with nutrients for subsequent crops.
Pea is a very efficient raw material in the production of proteins: use of water, land and energy. In the rotations, the pea contributes to a significant reduction in greenhouse gas emissions.
