Chicory Pulp
Natural source of functional fibres
Chicory pulp is a plant-based co-product obtained after the extraction of inulin from chicory roots. Naturally rich in pectin, hemicellulose and cellulose, and containing residual inulin, it provides a versatile combination of functional fibres for animal nutrition.
Gently dried at low temperature, not exceeding 70°C, chicory pulp preserves the nutritional properties of its fibres while ensuring consistent quality. This gentle drying process also prevents burnt particles and provides a uniform appearance.
Nutritional & functional benefits
Functional fibre profile
With approximately 27% pectin, together with hemicellulose, cellulose and around 7% inulin, chicory pulp provides a balanced combination of plant-based fibres.
Moisture management
Its high water-holding capacity, absorbing 8 to 10 g of water per gram of pulp, contributes to moisture management and ration structure.
Digestive support
Its combination of functional fibres helps support intestinal transit and digestive comfort.
Applications
Available in different particle sizes, chicory pulp can be incorporated into a wide range of animal nutrition applications:
